There is lots to do in the area from hiring bikes and cycling into Hay-on-Wye or pedal further along the Subtrans routes hiring canoes or even Vespas from the nearby River Cafe. The Black Mountains are in easy reach as are the Brecon Beacons with something available for every level of adventurer.
The River Wye is at the bottom of the fields nearby with canoeing hire in nearby Glasbury. Fishermen will enjoy the River Usk & River Wye for a casting day. Or check out the spectacular waterfalls in the National Park. There is the Cathedral town of Brecon 12 miles away the City of Hereford with impressive Cathedral housing the ancient Mappa Mundi 20 miles.
The accommodation offers FIVE bedrooms: 1 super-king-size 1 king-size with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC 1 double and 1 twin. On the ground floor 1 double with en-suite shower and WC. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Separate WC with washing machine on the ground floor.
Lounge: with woodburner (logs included). Snug/kitchen/diner: with TV and DVD. Kitchen area with electric oven and hob microwave fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Dining area: to formally seat 30. Outside: enclosed garden with outdoor furniture and BBQ. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen towels electric under floor heating and Free WiFi included. Regret no smoking. 2 dogs welcome. Additional info: 2 pull out beds available for children under 5 bed linen not provided. Location: pub within walking distance. Arrival: 4pm Need to know: SLEEPS 10: 5 bedrooms in total: A downstairs double bedroom and bathroom (perfect for older relatives). Upstairs there is one super king size bedroom, a king size bedroom, a double bedroom, plus a twin room, plus a further 3 bathrooms. All with beautiful bed linen and towels provided. The owner is happy to allow an additional two guests to stay under the age of 5 years, on the camp beds. Linen provided. EXTRA BEDS: There is the option to rent further properties on the same Medieval farm, a total of 30 guests can be accommodated, this can be slightly stretched if the guests are under 5 years. ENTERTAINING : Huge double height sitting room and dining room (17m in length). The dining table is a one off made from solid oak and can seat up to thirty people. The Sugar & Loaf Team can advise on caterers too, there are some fabulous ones in the area that can rustle up anything from food in the freezer, to a fully catered dinner party. COOKING : Beautiful state of the art kitchen, with large range cooker, dishwasher, lots of pots, pans etc. Basic kitchen supplies and local welcome pack on arrival. RELAXING : Two sitting areas, one designed for lazing by the tv and dvd, in earshot of the kitchen, so works well when wanting to watch someone else do the cooking! There is a large, relaxing area at the end of the barn with log burning stove (logs provided), two large sofas and a number of armchairs, seating 10 with ease. OUTSIDE : Private and pretty, large walled garden with views of the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park. There is a barbeque and outdoor seating available. PETS : Two dogs are very welcome at this property.
