Ashford in the Water is a pretty and popular Derbyshire village, located in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Sitting on the banks of the River Wye, three bridges cross this free flowing river making it an idyllic waterside setting. The village pub is welcoming and popular among locals, while you will find almost everything you need for your stay in the village shop. Walkers will enjoy setting out on the Monsal Trail, while the riverside cricket ground offers a relaxing spot to enjoy the game.

The cottage is accessed through a porch into the spacious beamed sitting room. With a log burning fire set in a traditional gritstone fireplace, this family room also features a writing desk for those working while they’re away, plus striking stone casement windows. Next door, the spacious kitchen has been beautifully fitted with cream units, granite worktops and clean white splash back tiles. The two other bedrooms have twin single beds, pretty linen and traditional stone windows, while the family bathroom has a separate shower cubicle and bath, wash basin and toilet.

Outside, there is a lovely large patio to sit and enjoy the views of the mature gardens, which run from the cottage down to the water’s edge and is fenced off for the safety of younger visitors.  There is a further large area of pasture beyond and friendly chickens which roam the grounds.
